2000 GALLERON AVES ZINFANDEL
NAPA VALLEY
The Vineyard:

The historic Aves vineyard is located in the heart of the St. Helena Appellation. Owners Russ and Leona Aves settled in the Napa Valley in 1968 and began farming the five acre parcel which was originally planted with Zinfandel in the late 1890s. The Aves family practices a vineyard technique called "dry farming" where no artificial irrigation is used. It is entirely up to Mother Nature to provide everything the vines will need to thrive. The incredible result is highly stressed, low yield vines with exceptional grapes that are bursting with intense fruit flavors and aromas.

The Wine:

Deep purple in color, this wine's intense black cherry and raspberry fruit tumble right out of the glass onto your palate. Spicy notes of cinnamon and nutmeg accentuate the bold fruit flavors. This medium to full-bodied Zinfandel is forward and smooth with integrated tannins that harmoniously blend with the velvety mouth-feel and enduring finish.
