The Vineyard:

This classic Chardonnay was crafted from grapes grown in the Trio Vineyard, located at the southern end of the Napa Valley in the Yountville appellation. The father- daughter team of Will and Julie Nord grow choice Chardonnay grapes in this region where the cool marine influence gives the vines a longer growing season - optimal for exceptional Chardonnay grapes with superb varietal character.

The Wine:

The color of golden light, this wine was 100% barrel fermented with no malolactic. Bright, fragrant aromas of pineapple, pear, apple and honeysuckle rise up from the glass. The flavors of tropical fruit, apple, cinnamon and vanilla are rich and flavorful followed by a smooth, creamy, fruity finish. The citrusy acidity gives this wine backbone which makes it a perfect companion for an elegant meal.

What The Critics Say...

Reviewed in California Grapevine - June / July 2002 -

"Medium-light golden-yellow; attractive, intense, buttery, ripe pear and spiced apple aroma with notes of hazelnut and vanilla; full body; forward, rich, slightly viscous, buttery, ripe tropical fruit flavors with a rounded mouth feel; well balanced and structured. Shows distinctive varietal character with well integrated oak and deserves another year or two of bottle aging. Very highly recommended. Score 90
