2002 CABERNET SAUVIGNON,
NAPA VALLEY
The Vineyard:
The 2002 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon was created from three of the
finest Cabernet vineyards in the Napa Valley: the Morisoli Vineyard,
the Galleron Vineyard and the Taplin Vineyard. The Morisoli and
Galleron Vineyards are located in the Rutherford appellation, while the
Taplin Vineyard is located in the heart of the St. Helena appellation. All
three historic vineyards were founded by pioneer families in the early
days when the Napa Valley was settled by European immigrants. All
three vineyards remain in the hands of the original families and are
farmed by their descendants.
The Wine:
This Cabernet is packed with 100% valley floor fruit. Full-bodied
and replete with vibrant aromas of rich, ripe fruit spiced with black
pepper and smoky oak. Smooth, polished tannins beautifully frame
complex layers of dark, rich valley floor fruit. Luscious waves
of blackberry, cherry, berry, cassis, cedar wood and vanilla oak wash
over the palate, and ultimately peak in a long, seductive finish. This
outstanding Cabernet is exceptionally engaging now, but will continue
to gain depth and complexity over time. (351 cases) 100% Cabernet
Sauvignon, $45.00

“Smells and tastes classy, with that powerful cassis
and new oak combo that’s hard to resist. Has ripe flavors of currants,
minty chocolate and vanilla, just delicious…” Steve Heimoff,
