STAGS LEAP CABERNET SAUVIGNON
NAPA VALLEY
The Vineyard:
Nestled on the
eastern slopes of the Napa Valley is a jewel of a vineyard that lies in
the crown of the Stag's Leap District. This legendary region was named
for an elusive stag who evaded hunters with a dramatic leap across the
landmark peaks that tower above the valley floor. Winemaker Gary Galleron
has worked his magic on these precious grapes, creating an elegant Cabernet
that is seductive and polished.
The Wine:
The grapes
for this Cabernet were crushed and fermented at 88º in small bins.
The cap was punched down by hand three tines daily until dryness. The
wine was pressed out after seven days and racked into new American Oak
barrels and aged for twenty-two months.
Radiant ruby-red in color, this medium-bodied Cabernet
has an aromatic intensity that belies its subtle, seductive flavor profile.
The wine opens with deep fragrances of ripe cherry, strawberry and vanilla
oak. The wine is exquisitely supple as it glides over the palate with
sweet cherry and red raspberry fruit interwoven with notes of sandalwood,
tobacco and vanilla. Elegant in demeanor, this Cabernet's charming flavors
grow longer and deeper in the glass. The wine finishes long, with beautifully
knit tannins that are soft, supple and suave. Elegance is the hallmark
of this Cabernet. |
