2004 CABERNET SAUVIGNON,
GENERATION SERIES
The Vintage:
“The 2004 harvest was one of the earliest I can
remember. A heat wave in early March forced budbreak and high temperatures
continued throughout the summer. A hot spell in late August gave sugar
levels a boost and we were ready to pick by September 10th. Despite the
early harvest, fruit quality was great with plump berries and ripe flavors
that have resulted in a very sexy, full-bodied wine with deep color and
complex flavors.”—Gary Galleron, Winemaker
The Vineyard:
The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon, Generation
Series, was created from the historic Galleron Family Vineyards in Rutherford. The
vineyard has been family owned and farmed since 1918 when it was founded
by French immigrants, Virgile and Angele Galleron. The Galleron’s
have been quality winegrowers in the Napa Valley for the past 89 years
and continue to produce exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon under the direction
of 3rd generation grower and winemaker, Gary Galleron.
The Wine:
This Cabernet is jam-packed with 100% valley floor fruit
and a dash of Rutherford dust. A burst of black fruit aromas entices
the nose and leads the palate to sweet, ripe blackberry flavors laced
with layers of cherry, berry, cassis, cedar wood and vanilla oak. Sexy,
ripe and replete, this Cabernet is ready to enjoy now but will continue
to gain depth and complexity over time.
What The Critics Say...
GOLD MEDAL, 2004 Generation Series, Los
Angeles International Wine Competition
EXCEPTIONAL, 2004 Generation Series, Dan Berger’s
Vintage Experiences
92 POINTS, 2004 Generation Series, “Rich, ripe, elegant aromas
waft from the glass. A classic Cab nose. Lots of ripe red fruits on the
palate and the degree of ripeness of the fruit could be used as a textbook
example of what to do/what to look for. Layers of integrated richness
of wood and fruit and the alcohol is nicely balanced.” Jim White,

"...exemplary and priced most fairly...2004 Galleron Family Vineyards
Cabernet Sauvignon ($40): A distinctive herb and cherry aroma with rich
fruit and tannins; should stand up to steaks now and will reward cellaring
for a few years." Dan Berger On Wine
"Galleron 2004 Generation Series--Very floral
nose with lots of violet and rose. Plenty of red and black fruit in the
mouth with a full, rich texture.” Santé Magazine, November
2007
