With the advent of the Gallo contract and some assurance
of financial stability, it was time for the Galleron Brothers to start
their families. Virgil Galleron married Alice Acquistapace and Paul Galleron
married the Calistoga beauty he had fallen in love with before the war,
Alberta Loraine Lawson. Both brothers brought their brides home to the
Galleron ranch. In September of 1950, Paul's bride, 24 year old, Alberta
Galleron was crowned queen of St. Helena's Harvest Days Festival. The
event was a huge draw for tourists, and additional publicity was secured
for the Harvest Festival when Queen Alberta and her court were interviewed
by Dean Maddox on KFRC's "Breakfast
at the Cliffhouse" in San Francisco. One of the official duties of Queen
Alberta, was to cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony for Napa's new
freeway. Queen Alberta and her court were the first to cruise the new
two lane freeway in an open convertible driven by Mayor Owen Seavey.
